Copa-Loca

This is the story of Copa-Loca. Paulina is the girl at the heart of this abandoned Greek summer resort. Everyone cares for her and she cares about everyone – in every possible way.

In an abandoned Greek summer resort, we follow the mundane life of Paulina. Between memorizing the list of cocktails that were available at the resort, challenging the locals with impossible dilemmas, and engaging in sexual intercourse with literally almost everyone, she tries to maintain the warm spirit of a never-ending summer in any way possible.

In his film, Christos Massalas depicts a floating moment in time through a photogenic and pictorial approach. The cinematography with a pastel colour palette, dynamic sound design, and omniscient narrator creates a dreamlike ambiance. Copa-Loca is blissfully melancholic and digests a bittersweet feeling of belonging in a forsaken place.” — Émilie Poirier
