Breedbeeld Kortfilmfestival 2024: Guest Programme Kortfilm.be

This short film programme illustrates the liberating power of cinema in a reflective, sometimes activist way. In each of the films, characters, filmmakers, and viewers search for order and freedom—a longer journey that takes us past Nepal, Tanzania, Palestine, and Tunisia.

Film Fest Gent & Art Cinema OFFoff

In col­la­bo­ra­ti­on with Film Fest Gent, Art Cinema OFFoff brings out the 16mm and Super8 pro­jec­tor for an eve­ning of ana­lo­gue short films by the French-American film­ma­ker Maximilien Luc Proctor, inclu­ding Seasonal Concerns (2024) and the world pre­mie­re of Aotearoa (2024). ​

Film Fest Gent Talkie

On October 13th, Film Fest Gent and Kortfilm.be invite Naomi Pacifique, Saleh Kashefi, and Camille Vigny to a conversation on intimacy. During this Film Fest Gent Talkie, the filmmakers will elaborate on their filmmaking practices and short films that are part of the festival’s  International Short Film Competition.

Open Cinema 2024 in collaboration with De Cinema

For the third time in a row, Flemish movie theatres are celebrating the new film year. De Cinema joins the fun with a unique full-day programme. One ticket allows access to all screenings on Sunday, 6 October! The short film installment is presented in collaboration with Kortfilm.be and bridges Fritz Lang’s dystopian Metropolis (1927) with the industrial cityscapes from Koyaaniqatsi (1982).

Brussels Short Film Festival 2024

From the more than 250 short films that will be shown from April 24 to May 4 during the Brussels Short Film Festival, our editorial team chose five for the “best-of” programme Kortfilm.be Selects. Come discover them on May 3 in Flagey.

Shortscreen is Kortfilm.be’s yearly appointment with genre cinema. In collaboration with the Brussels film festival Offscreen, we present a short film programme featuring recent European work that is difficult to categorise.

On November 3rd, Kortfilm.be presents a guest programme at the Breedbeeld Short Film Festival at De Cinema in Antwerp, featuring four short films by filmmakers who each, in their own way, take a look at their fellow human beings.
